Revenge, in its purest of forms, forms the basic description of this dark and gory movie. It is a movie about a surgeon who leads a happy life, free from any complications and hassles, with his family; the family that consists of his wife and eight year old daughter, Jasmine.
But this perfect nature of things does not remain perfect forever, as one afternoon a man rapes and murders his daughter. With this incident, the life of the doctor comes to a complete halt, and takes a very dark shape. Though the murderer is captured, the thirty eight year old father decides to take revenge in his own way. Plotting a dark scheme, he kidnaps the murderer when he is about to be presented before the court. He kidnaps him and leaves a note for the police stating that the man would be tormented by him for seven days, and the end of that period would be marked by his death. After this, the doctor takes his revenge in the way that satisfies the wounded father in him the most. A movie that can be best described as a fight to quench a thirst that can never be satisfied!
Director Daniel Grou achieves his task perfectly and brings out the movie as it was supposed to. The cast of Claude Legault, Rémy Girard and Martin Dubreuil does perfect justice to the story written by Claude Legault, Rémy Girard and Martin Dubreuil.
