The story follows the life of a teen Sticky, living in California. The story envisages his life from a disturbed childhood to his efforts to get happiness from the real life, by making humane efforts. Sticky leads a haywire life, as his formative years have been tragic.
Her mother is a hooker and accompanied by her abusive boyfriend. After being neglected by them, he is put into foster care. His life takes to turn for the better with Francine, a motherly figure, who takes him in. But she too passes away because of cancer. He further shrinks from the social life, after getting abandoned by a couple. All of these draw him towards Basketball. After become a legend of sorts at it, he visits a famous gym called Lincoln Rec Centre, to improvise his basketball skills. In the midst of all this, Sticky has a girlfriend, Annie. Now a situation crops up, when Annie’s birthday is approaching and Sticky has nothing to gift her.
He has no money with him and this leads him to do anything to get a present. In order to arrange the money, he assaults a man but to his dismay, the man retaliates and shoots at him! As a result, he finds himself in a hospital. Now the story takes an emotional turn when Annie visits him. This acts as paradigm shift in his life. Agents of change inculcate his mind and he feels all carriers of reticence, which stopped him to nod and open up to Annie. The movie relates his life with basketball for his change from a recluse to a truly social man.
