Written and Directed by Max Winkler, Ceremony is a comedy that revolves around a man named Sam, who has a hobby of realizing things, when one has already missed the bus. Sam Davis never seriously thought about his relationship with Zoe.
Time passed by and Zoe realised that her future is only secure, if she tries to move-on in life, by forgetting about her current equation with Sam. Initially, this idea doesn’t seem a reason to worry for Sam, and he conveniently lets her occupy her own space. Late realisation of love is exactly what springs up in his mind, later. And so, Sam wastes no time to find out where his ex is residing, in order to win her back and eventually, lead a happy life with her. But it seems as if destiny has something else in store for him. Zoe is getting married, and with of course, someone else. Upon discovering this huge fact of life, Sam makes the quick move of thinking of an idea to get her back in his life. He seriously cannot let her go.
And why should he, he now knows that it’s him, and none else, who can keep Zoe like a princess, all through his life. And so, he follows certain planned steps to get her back. Will Sam be successful? What’s going on in his mind? Well, he manages to occupy a residence, very close to the place where she is getting married. He definitely won’t allow her to substantiate her nuptials, easily. Rest you’ll get to know as you’ll catch up with the movie.
What happens when you crash into a wedding trying to get the bride back into your life? Director Max Winkler tries to bring to you the exact situation, and also tries to solve the dilemma. But this movie is different; apart from the comedy and the romantic angle, it also focuses on the complexities of modern relationships, and also touches upon the difficulties of maintaining a balance between love and friendships.
A perfect cast of Uma Thurman, Reece Thompson and Michael Angarano takes the movie to an altogether new level. A must watch for the die-hard romantic who believes in the power of love.
