Circus Maximus is an incredible movie, with the story revolving around the protagonist, Cal Neros. He is a famous screenwriter and movie-maker. Cals wins a nomination for his film, Skylight Harmony, in the Independent Spirit Award.
The story moves forward as Cal is given a lump-sum amount in advance by an acclaimed Hollywood studio, to write another screenplay. He is now on a deadline mission as he has just seven months for this project. Yet, he overlooks the deadline and gets summoned by the studio’s executive. Cal is given two choices; either to complete the write-up or to return back the advance. His problems accentuate further, as he loses the entire amount because of a bad investment. Cal, now faces the task of writing three short stories. The twist is that these stories would be a part of a feature length movie.
Cal also faces the demand that each story should be more twisted, sick and offensive than the usual stuff he is habitual of writing. Will Cal be able to find a solution to this fix? Would he be able to pen down the stories? Cal goes on a race against time, to write the stories as repaying the huge sum is not an option with him. Circus Maximus is a movie replete with twists that are essential to any interesting movies and makes for a perfect watch. The major highlight of this movie is the fact that, as the movie unfolds further; each of the fictional characters of Cal’s stories turns alive!
