Douglass U is a comedy that tells the story of a college kid who has somewhat different plans from what his father has in store for him. Aaron Johnson, played by Hari Williams (he is also the writer of the film) joins the prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
He was supposed to study business and then join his father’s legacy by uniting with Overture Scholastic Society. He instead chooses Douglas University where he wants to learn new things through novel experiences. One night, he and his friends attend a party where things get astray. The night leaves them highly in debt to their dormitory’s Resident Advisor, who had thrown them a lavish party. Aaron and his friends will now have to throw an even greater party to fulfill everyone’s expectation. He and his friends will have to exceed the opulence of the party that they had just attended. Now, Aaron gets confused regarding the future course of action. His fanatical girlfriend makes things even more difficult for him.
He seems to be losing it all until he finds a girl who seems to be straightening things out for him. He had never thought of finding the right girl and, under the circumstances, thinks this could be best thing to have happened with him. Douglas U moves forward with unfavorable circumstances and shows the life of a young man and what all he experiences as a freshman. The film has some fresh and great acting from its lead stars.
