Dream in American is a drama that revolves around the lives of several commoners, living in New York City, USA. Dream in American is a saga of various characters in the story.

The story begins with a young dancer, who has landed from Bulgaria to this very modern and very hep country, where she is out to make a new life for herself. Her musician boyfriend also hopes to gather some fame and success in this new city. The other heart-rending part of the story is when you see a young French-Israeli choreographer, who suddenly finds herself face to face with deadly cancer. She now not only has to fight for a little space in the world of choreography, but also has to battle an illness she never dreamt would afflict her. The story also takes us into the life of another character - a young Muslim doctor, who finds it hard to hide his clandestine secret of homosexuality from his fiancée, who is also Muslim and wants to marry him to live a ‘happy ever after’ life! A teenager in the story gives it a fresh lease of life, but you would be saddened to hear that the teenager has taken on a lot of Americanism, and is in no mood to reconcile with her father, who wishes to get back his sweet baby daughter.
