Exit Through the Gift Shop is a Banksy film which is based on Frenchman Thierry Guetta, who gets an idea to shoot street artists, in their way of doing their work.
He tells the artists that he is making a documentary. However, he has no purpose of editing the work. Many street workers participate because of being ignored from the actual matter. Brit Banksy is one such artist, who is camera shy and doesn’t want his face to be revealed in the documentary. He convinces Thierry to use his footage in the movie. In the meantime, he realizes that Thierry is a nasty filmmaker.
But he also feels that Thierry isn’t that bad a person. He is strange yet interesting. Later, Banksy decides to make a movie on the journey of Thierry, by using the footage and some supplementary material. Banksy convinces Thierry to become a street artist, as he was in touch with the process of street art from a long time. Thierry identifies himself as street artist MBW.
