Glee: The 3D Concert movie is a dream-come-true for all the Gleeks out there! The movie, for the first time ever, sees our favorite cast members from the show performing live in a musical tour named the ‘Glee Live! In Concert!’, which took place in East Rutherford, NJ, on 16th June, 2011.
We get to see the stars donning all-new avatars as they take on the stage, revamping their position from confused teenagers to confident performers. The main attractions of the event are 14 of the Glee stars, including Dianna Argon, Lea Michele, Heather Morris and Kevin Mchale. They are joined by the Warblers, who have been favorite performers all through the first two seasons of the show. Other highlights of the event include a live performance of “Forget You” by Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as one by Jane Lynch. Ryan Murphy is at the helm of the tour’s production, and describes it as an effort to honor the diehard fans of the show, who have been enjoying it ever since it first aired. Moreover, he terms it as an effort to expand the horizons of the show to a wider audience. Whatever may be Mr. Murphy’s aim, what is for sure is that we have a musical gala in store for us on Glee: The 3D Concert movie.
The 3D effects make for a lifelike experience, nearly matching up to watching the stars perform live at the concert. Get set to experience the shouts, screams and fan frenzy that prevailed over the concert as you watch this one! Some of the songs to watch out for are ‘P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)’, ‘Happy Days Are Here Again’, ‘Loser Like Me’, ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’, ‘Somebody to Love’, ‘SING’, ‘I’m a Slave 4 U’, and ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’. This is one musical extravaganza you definitely wouldn’t want to miss for anything!
