Harlem Hostel

Harlem Hostel is the place that every youngster dreams of. There are no rules, the rent is cheap, it’s away from the hustle of the city, and best of all, is inhabited by youngsters who have no care in the world.

Two young men, Bill and his childhood friend Rick are at the helm of this unlikely project. Their journey started out of Bill’s frustration with his family. A graphic designer by profession, Bill is still to find his hold as an independent professional. He lives in a troubled family with his mother, brother and a brood of irksome nephews. Despite being desperate to escape from the crippling environment, he has no option but to keep living in his family home, since he can barely afford to pay his bills. Things spin out of control when Rick crashes into his home, after his return from Iraq. Rick has nowhere else to go after his mother’s retirement and his father’s estrangement.  Bill is faced with a dilemma of sorts, being unable to turn his friend out, while also finding it impossible to coexist with him in his house. A fight with his family lifts the lid off the Pandora’s Box, causing Bill to move out. Rick tags along, and together, they move into a discarded brownstone in the locality. They are soon joined by Will, a notorious womanizer with an ill reputation.

Bill struggles to make both ends met, and embarks on a frantic search for a job. Failing in all his attempts, he finally decides to be his own boss, and with the help of Rick and Will, he converts the brownstone into an illegal youth hostel. Before they know it, it turns out to be the hub of beautiful young girls, drug vendors and all things fatal. Watch the movie to see a simple business idea turning out to be a life-changing escapade!
