The movie depicts an England of the early 12th century, when King John’s reign had become harrowing for his subjects. His tyrannical rule had led his knights to rebel and protest against him, demanding a signed treaty regarding the rights of free men.
The adventure packed movie picks up just when King John’s unfulfilled promise to his subjects of giving them the freedom comes into the picture. He again uses his atrocious ways and with his army and soldiers, tries to re-establish his reign, but, is obstructed by a mutiny at the Rochester Castle. The suppressed, the oppressed, and the enslaved, team up to overthrow the King through their rebellious moves at the Rochester Castle. The victims are simply not ready to submit themselves to the slavery of a cruel and stringent commander like King John. Those who once fought for King John now come across as his biggest nemesis. The neglected knights, who favored and spoke for the king someday at the cost of overlooking their wife’s care and affection, now realize their mistake.
