Martha Marcy May Marlene

A young woman named Martha, has an intense desire to live a well-heeled life, evading the miseries she’s gone through, during her stay in an obnoxious cult, in the past.

With the intent to chase over an all-new trajectory of life, she has joined her sister, Lucy and brother-in-law, Adam, at their Connecticut vacation home; miles away from the city’s squawk. The couple gives the best of their efforts to bring-in a whole lot of peace in Martha’s life, as she moves in with them. As we get to peep into Martha’s past, she is found to be the owner of a horrible history, as she spent a considerable time of her life, in an abusive cult in rural New York. Somehow, she managed to flee away from the brutality she was living in, but her memories from the past still haunt her and she constantly experiences scary and frightening flashbacks, as and when she tries to settle down into her new life.

The erratic behavior of the paranoia-inflicted lady starts to affect the people around her, as she loses her grip on the real things. The re-assimilation turns out to be incredibly disastrous for the family, as Martha starts behaving in an abnormal way.
