Nerd of the Living Dead is a comical take on the supernatural subject of zombies that’s been explored in a serious tone to the level of saturation in cinema; paving way for humor.
The movie, loosely inspired by a zombie film of the sixties, tells the tale of a vegetarian boy, who steps into the zone of the undead, only to realize that he’ll have to give up his disgust for meat, since that’s what he’ll have to survive on for the rest of his life. The movie is set in the 60s and stars some new faces that imparts it the look of a youthful indie film, made more for fun and less for the scare that its name evokes. The titular role of the ‘nerd’ is a character named, Elvin McBrant. Elvin has a weird fetish for condiments.
He finds himself in an unlikely situation, when he steps into the zone of the undead! His only way to survive is by killing, and eating what he has killed. Having lived his entire life as a vegetarian, the task at hand is a nearly impossible one for Elvin, he would rather starve himself to death than bite into a piece of meat. His zombie companions however step in to his aid, helping him overcome his disgust and embrace the world of gore. And with his sweet girlfriend, Judy (Samantha Falk), who makes no qualms about not being a virgin by his side, shedding off inhibitions, would not be a big problem!
