North Face

The story is based on a real incident during 1936 where a few men move to overcome one of the tallest mountains of Europe.

Now, Germany is looking to raise its reputation in the eyes of the world. After a couple of Germans die climbing the North Face of the Eiger, the state is looking for other people who can finish the left over mission of climbing the mountain. Henry Arau (Ulrich Tukur) secretary, Luise Fellner (Johanna Wokalek), tell him that she knows someone who can climb Eiger, he decides to make a team and make his dream come true. Luise Fellner tries to convince Andi Hinterstoisser (Florian Lukas) and Toni Kurz (Benno Fürmann), who are her close friends but are serving in army right now, to climb the mountain.

Andi Hinterstoisser agrees to put his life in danger for the sake of the nation, but Toni Kurz agrees on the decision that he will climb the mountain for his own sake and not for the government.
