Planet Hulk

Planet Hulk is based on the comic series of the same name, and follows a Spartacus-like storyline, whereby the Incredible Hulk is shoved into an unwelcoming world, and forced to use his power against foes of a tyrant.

The movie begins with Hulk’s allies, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, and Dr. Strange, launching him into the outer space, commanding him to search for a peaceful and deserted planet where he can find the inner peace that he’s badly in need of. They do so in an attempt to get rid of the fits of rage that Hulk is prone to. However, the plan spins out of control when the ship that he’s hoisted into, goes off track, landing into a mysterious land, where violence is the norm. Hulk’s rage is no longer seen as his weakness, but instead becomes his greatest strength, making him one of the most dreaded combatants. Seeing the power of Hulk, the tyrant who rules this planet takes him under his wing, and forces him to fight as a gladiator. Hulk turns from a dreaded foe into a mighty god, as the residents of the planet believe that he is their savior, and the only one who can free them from the overbearing rulers of their land. The might of Hulk poses a threat to the emperor, who wants to see him dead. But then, when it’s Hulk that we’re talking about, it’s neither possible to defeat him, nor to kill him.
