Repo Men is a gory sci-fi thriller, set in the near future, where people can buy organs on credit, and repay the money later, with the organ safe inside them. However, the trouble arises when they are not able to pay their dues.
That is when the role of Remy (Jude Law) and his former partner (Forest Whittaker), two men who work for a heartless business mogul (Live Schrieber), comes in handy. They earn a living by cutting open the bodies of their victims and retrieving the organs for which dues were unpaid. However, things take an unexpected twist when Remy gets a heart transplant and is the one at the receiving end of the barbaric treatment that he has been inflicting on others all through his life. As his partner begins to pursue him, he is left with no other option than to escape. That is when his path crosses with that of his estranged wife, Beth (Alice Braga), who is also retrofitted with several internal organs. Together, they forge an intricate plan to get back at this underworld agency, and save the lives of millions. Being an ex-army man, Remy is well-equipped with all the skills that he needs in this unlikely mission. With the woman he loves by his side, and with the responsibility of saving both their lives resting on his shoulders, he puts in all his might to avenge his friend-turned-foe and the organization that he works with.
The movie stimulates one’s imagination, taking the viewers to a world where bloodshed is customary, and where each man must fight to save his own life. Directed by Miguel Sapochnik, the film is replete with some truly stunning performances that will have your heart beat racing, and will make you feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins.
