The life of a rock star is all about rock and roll, sex, drugs and groupies. They go on the stage, rock the hell out of the audience and make them ask for an encore. And how can we forget the hardcore fans, a.k.a., the roadies, who literally worship them. In a way, a band is nothing without these hardcore devotees. Roadie is a movie which revolves around the life of one such devotee.
Jimmy Testagross has been worshipping the epic band, Blue Oyster Cult, for almost 20 years. It was his childhood dream to live and hit the roads with the band. And, he very much did just that! But, as time changed, Blue Oyster Cult began to fade and the band had to play at small clubs to pay the bills. The man left behind in all of this is Jimmy, who doesn’t have a real job or any prospects of getting one.
He finally decided to head back home to Queens, New York, where he is reacquainted with his own life and self. His widow mother, an old love interest and an ex-nemesis make him realize that though he is an adult now, but his actions and thoughts don’t really support his age. He is still angry with the society and its components and still harbors the same frustration that he had years back. But now, he has to change and become a little responsible towards his life and family. This film is all about the life of a roadie, not with the band, but with reality.
