John, a compulsive gambler, has moved to Albuquerque to do away with his awful habit of trying luck at tables.
He leaves Las Vegas and joins an auto insurance firm, to find a way out of his problem. Here at work, he’s desperate to get a quick promotion, quite reluctant to leave for Los Angles. And before he could drive back to the city, he finds himself caught in a romantic relationship with his eccentric colleague, Jill. But John does not take much time in shifting back to his old ways. His intentions see the light of the day, as he accompanies company’s top fraud debunker, Virgil. The two are paired up by their boss to investigate a suspicious car accident, just near Las Vegas. While Virgil is a genius, with a significant experience at investigations, John also finds himself good at work.
The two encounter a number of off-beat characters on their way, including a nude militant, a handicapped stripper, and a carnival human torch! As John’s efforts start paying off, causing the case to conclude soon, he comes to realize that the problem is not about gambling, but the way he takes things!
