Senna was one of those stars that shone so brightly, that perhaps in retrospect, do not seem destined to last long. This documentary charts the phenomenal rise and the demise of one of the most phenomenal names in the history of Formula One racing, Ayrton Senna.

Born in a vibrant Brazil, Senna rose to worldwide fame through his absolute brilliance on the tracks. But what made him a heroic figure who is fondly remembered even two decades after his death, is the kindness and integrity that he brought to the sport and to his life. His most famous encounters were those against his arch-rival Alain Prost, who was the French world champion of the sport. Senna’s battle for victory also seeped into the functioning of the sport, to which he made an extra effort to contribute his level best.

He was famous for being a devout patriot, who would splurge nearly all of his earnings on to donations for the betterment of his beloved Brazil. His death was as heroic as his life, as he breathed his last during the live telecast that had over 300 million motor enthusiasts from the world over glued to their TV sets. All this makes his story absolutely stunning, and gives this documentary the stature of an incredibly touching account of an icon’s life.
