Set in the Midwest, where the skateboard culture is quite unknown, the film centers on the attempts of a street skater to attain stardom.Derrick Cabrera, like all other skaters, wants to be sponsored and become a renowned skater.But unluckily, he is living in an area, where skating is believed to have no future.His parents and friends are all against him; his only hope is a group of friends, who have similar interest of skating.But one of his friends, whom Derrick looks upon as a mentor, feels jealous of his increasing perfection.While performing a skating trick, Derrick gets arrested and his father and girlfriend prohibit him from continuing the sport.However, Derrick escapes with his friends to participate in a Tampa Am contest in Florida - his last hope for stardom.His friends dump him due to jealousy, but finally he is rescued by an amateur’s sister.She motivates him to participate in the competition.Derrick finally performs in front of the world, using the tricks he had learned and becomes instantly famous, his dreams finally coming true.Street Dreams video is available here and you can watch it at your own convenience.
