Sometimes, while fishing for a salmon, one ends up with a shark at the end of the hook. While such a happening is a rarity, it did happen with Ned Cruz, who is a detective in the spine-chilling movie, The Big Bang.

When a man approaches Ned with the case of a girl named Lexie, he considers it just another ordinary case. However, the revelation of precious stones, the girl is carrying, raises his interest in the case. As he sets out to get hold of the girl, he meets people such as a film celebrity with skeletons in the cupboard, a man who has put his money in pornography business, and a girl who is obsessed with a particular branch of science. They all are strange in their own ways. Cruz decides to investigate the case personally and puts all his energy to locate her. On his way, he stumbles upon a rich man and his associate, who both have a crazy theory regarding The Big Bang. The duo wishes to bring alive the concept under the New Mexico desert. But, soon Cruz finds that he is not the only one looking for Lexie.

Three policemen, who got the whiff about the stones, are also on a hunt for the girl. As the story evolves, Cruz finds that the fish is even bigger than what he has imagined.
