The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantasy tale which is written and directed by talented creator Terry Gilliam. The movie presents an interesting travel show where one can choose between a joyful and a gloomy life. Dr Parnassus is a man with several layers who gives flight to the imagination of the people around him. The plot asserts one of the dark secrets of the doctor. The secret is that a few years ago he had entered into a pact with the devil in which he was blessed with immortality. Few centuries later, he again made a pact with the devil, sold his immortality and won youth. In exchange of his youth he also agrees to give his first born baby when he/she turns 16.  Most of the scenes and concepts are derived from Doctor Faustus. In fact it is a tale of contemporary Dr. Faustus. But when the time comes to surrender his daughter to the devil, Mr. Nick then Dr Parnassus fights with inevitable surreal obstructions.
