The Muppets (aka Green with Envy) is a comic depiction of a group, worried about the dismantling of Muppets’ theatre by a shrewd oil industrialist.
The movie picks up pace when Walter, Gary and Mary go off on a vacation to Los Angeles, and come to terms with the news of The Muppets theatre on the threshold of being crushed by an oil industrialist. He wants to establish his oil industry on those very grounds, after discovering large traces of oil beneath the Muppet’s hangouts. Walter, Gary and Mary slog hard to reunify The Muppets, who had all frivoled away. They all plan the Greatest Muppet Telethon, a yielding event to raise $10 million. However, for that they need to aid Kermit to get back all the Muppets who had dispersed, with Miss Piggy pursuing the profession of an editor in Vogue Paris magazine; Fozzie involved in his music with Moopets, a tribute band; Gonzo turned into a high-octane plumbing magnate; and last but not the least, Animal admitted in Santa Barbara medical institution, working his way around wrath management.
Thus, the tableau focuses on the journey of this motley group, trying to get back the diffused Muppets to safeguard their property, their theatre, and ultimately, their talent.
