The Over The Hill Band

The comedy drama movie The Over the Hill Band is an interesting insight into the life of a 70-year-old lady, who tries to relive her dreams through hip-hop music.

In order to give her dreams the shape of a concert, the ever-enthusiastic Claire decides to approach her R&B musician son. At this juncture, the movie comes out with an apt representation of how the relationship between a rebel son and a mother actually goes off. When Claire urges his son Sid to help her out with the re-building of a music band with her old friends, he rejects it straightaway. But finally, he agrees to do this honor for his mother and her group of old pals. However, Sid places one condition in front of his mother, and it is that the band will play the songs written by him. Claire decides to accept the selfish demands of her son. And right after that, the plot takes off at a swift pace. The humor is drawn out of the idiosyncrasies of Claire and her group old girls.

The movie has a very interesting message that music knows no age, and there is nothing that can stop somebody to be passionate for it. Apart the hilarious moments, The Over the Hill Band has some very engrossing instances, especially when it comes to the relationship between Sid and his mother. It also celebrates the reunion of Claire with some of her old pals, and all credit should go to the enigma of music.
