It is 1975 and two brothers are trying to rise above the mundane lives that the people around them are living. The tale is about their mistakes, desires and expectations.
Brian is a boy growing up in Brooklyn, in the shadow of his elder brother, Danny, who dabbles in some unethical activities. Both conspire to execute odd jobs in the neighborhood, much to the disgust of Brian who does not like it. The younger brother idolizes his tough elder. Brian does not want to follow in the footsteps of the youngsters around him by choosing a morning to evening job. Their father Paddy is a complete drunkard who often thrashes their mother Margaret and Brian. His buddy, Todd, opted for a scholarship and Brian does not want to imitate him either. Even college does not inspire him. His only solace is the works of art he makes with charcoal and water colors. Its Brian’s own little secret. Brian is in an ethical dilemma and is a perfect character to showcase the expectations and dreams of young men trying to live their dreams.
He hooks on with Shauna, a neighborhood girl who is trying to break free from the narrow alleys and life of Brooklyn streets. He often spends time with Whitey, and works for his theatre. The movie takes a surprising turn when Danny asks for his assistance in a robbery, at a Rolling Stones concert. Would Brian be able to pull it off! Engrossing till the last scene!
