White Lion

White Lion is the story of a White Lion who gets born in the African Valley after a long, long time. It is also the story of Gisani, a young Shangaan, who takes it as his job to protect this miraculous animal from the fangs of the poachers! The White Lion named Letsatsi gets separated from his pride, and struggles to live on his own. Soon he befriends a tiger, who decides to work in tandem with him. But before much can be done, the fellow tiger named Nkulu gets killed by a local farmer. Meanwhile, Gisani decides to become the tracker for a hunter, who has his eyes set on the white lion. Gisani in his own way serves him to keep him away from the gorgeous animal. The White Lion, believed to be a messenger of gods, does fine on his own and becomes a skilled hunter, making himself a strong adult. But this is where an unstoppable hunter comes in. He is a man with little or no respect for the fables, and for whom his hunt is everything. Together Gisani and Letsatsi try to save themselves from the clutches of this hunter.  

The team of director Michael Swan and writers Ivan Milborrow and Janet van Eeden does a wonderful job together, and the cast of Jamie Bartlett, John Kani and Thabo Malema does its best to support them.
