Winter's Bone

Winter’s Bone is a drama, centered on a girl named Rhee Dolly, who dwells in the hilly area of Ozarks. The girl is in her late teens and has an ailing mother and two younger siblings to cater to. Her father, who was the sole earning member of the family, is supposedly in jail.

There are a number of people who tell her this tale about the whereabouts of her father, including the local sheriff. The girl also believes the same. Providing food, clothing and shelter to her family in such a cold region is way difficult for her, but she somehow manages to do so, to the maximum extent that she can. One good thing that the family can think of is that they possess a house of their own. The movie moves on to show this possession of theirs, facing the threat of being taken over by an authority, if the girl’s father is unable to appear in a certain courtroom on a specified date. While she has neither the knowhow, nor the resources to trace her father and bring him back, she has a firm determination that helps her set out to look for him.

The girl doesn’t bother which place she is going to, or what kind of people she is talking to. She leaves no stone unturned in the search of her father, until, she is offered her father’s remains! The film is shocking as well as moving to the core and is a must watch for the lovers of good cinema.
