Ben Singer, who wanted to be children’s folk singer is taken over by his own cynicism, as his Senegalese friend, Ibou, is caught by a mysterious illness.
Having gone through certain failures in life, Ben has turned out to be a habitual Marijuana smoker, who probably has everything messed up around him, except his regular chess games and friendly debates on the same, with Ibou. The ‘bouts’ between the two is the only thing in his world that provides intellectual relief to Ben. Playing as the worst weekend dad on this earth, Ben can also be entitled the tag of the most negative man on the planet. This man is living with a skeptical worldview, which is driven to more darkness, when Ibou is stricken by a sudden illness. A hard-hearted municipal employee enters into scene, making the emergency situation even worst. But both the guys see alleviation in their condition, as Ibou’s sister, Khadi, enters their life.
Finally, Ben’s cynicism is confirmed, and he exerts all his energy into a frivolous lawsuit, fighting against the city. However, he soon gets to know that his misanthropy is nothing more than a different angle to view things.
